operation christmas child!

What It Is & Why We’re Doing It

Operation Christmas Child is a global outreach of Samaritan’s Purse that shares the love of Jesus with children around the world through simple shoebox gifts. Each box is packed with toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and most importantly — a message of hope. Every child who receives a box also hears about the Good News of Jesus and has the opportunity to join a local discipleship program. This year, our church is partnering with Operation Christmas Child because we believe generosity can open hearts and transform lives — both for those who give and those who receive.

Our heart behind this event was deeply inspired by what our WNLA team experienced during their missions trip to Thailand this summer. At one of the small house churches, they met children and families whose lives had been directly impacted by Operation Christmas Child. Seeing their gratitude and the lasting fruit of this ministry reminded us that something as small as a shoebox can make an eternal difference.

How to Get Involved This October

Throughout the month of October, we’ll be collecting items to fill 200 shoeboxes together as a church family. There are three simple ways to participate:

Pick up a few gifts from the different categories — toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and accessories. Every small donation adds up to make a big impact!

Shoebox Packing Party & Potluck

Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 2nd right after church! We’ll gather for a church-wide potluck and shoebox-packing party as we come together to pack 200 boxes.

Just show up, bring a dish if you’d like, and join in the fun! It’s a family-friendly outreach — kids, teens, and adults all working side by side to bless children in need. Together, we’ll pray over each box and celebrate what God can do through simple acts of generosity.

Let’s make this a day to remember and send out hundreds of reminders of God’s love across the world!
